In 1952, Mercedes-Benz returned to competition via selected races that year with the futuristic looking 300SL and its 'gullwing' doors. With 150mph performance it resumed Mercedes formidable reputation in motor racing created in the 1930s by the Silver Arrows. They finished 1st and 2nd at Le Mans. The chasing Jaguar C-Types had revised bodywork to improve their top speed. Unfortunately this affected their cooling system and they subsequently overheated and retired. Photos of the car can be found here 80% pre-shrunk cotton, 20% polyester with water-based inks. Drawstring hood and front pouch pockets. Made in the USA with regular European sizing and cut. |
