The V. Carrera Panamericana t-shirt.

Organised by the Mexican government to celebrate the Panamericana Highway in 1950, a five day road rally served as a suitable event to attract international business to Mexico. The gruelling race quickly turned into one of the most dangerous road races in the history of motor sport. Not surprisingly, considering the 2,100 mile race took place on open (sometimes unpaved) roads.

In 1954, and the final running of the Carrera Panamericana, Porsche once again cemented its reputation as a 'giant slayer'. The diminutive Porsche 550 Spyder scored a third place in the overall classification. Porsche easily won its class and managed to outpace some mighty heavy metal from Italy and the USA. Sadly, the Carrera Panamericana was deamed to be too dangerous and the race was cancelled in 1955. To celebrate thier success, the Carrera badge adorns Porsches to this day.

This heavyweight 100% pre-shrunk cotton t-shirt features a taped neck to shoulder seam. Silk-screened in the USA.
